10 parties join forces to unseat Gov Otu in 2027

At least ten political parties in Cross River State have come together with the shared goal of unseating the current Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, in the 2027 elections.

The coalition was officially formed following a critical meeting held yesterday in Calabar.

Leaders of the ten parties unanimously agreed to unite their efforts ahead of the 2027 general polls.

The coalition criticized the performance of the APC-led government in the state, condemning the administration’s handling of governance.

They called on the ruling party to embrace good governance practices and ensure greater accountability and transparency in managing the state’s affairs.

In a statement issued by Rev. Omaleko Efut Omaleko, Director of Communication and Strategy and the state chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the coalition cautioned the APC against suppressing democracy and attempting to establish a one-party dominance in Cross River State.

Party leaders present at the meeting included representatives from APGA, the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Boot Party (BP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Young Progressives Party (YPP).

The Action Democratic Congress (ADC) and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) also participated through their delegates.
