Kayode Fayemi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential contender and Governor of Ekiti State, has refuted charges that he betrayed APC National Leader Bola Tinubu.
Fayemi stated that the presidency is not an inherited position, and that he did not violate Tinubu by entering the presidential contest.
The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, speaking on Channels Television last night, stated that APC Presidential hopefuls must make a difference in the lives of Nigerians.
“The Asiwaju I know and have engaged with would not consent to the demonization of anyone,” he stated. I don’t think he’d use words like treachery; this isn’t an inheritance, and the title we’re looking for isn’t a traditional one.
“We want to make a difference in the lives of Nigerians by running for this post.” It’s about Nigeria, which is all Nigerians’ commonwealth.”
Fayemi announced her candidacy for President yesterday.
Tinubu had previously expressed interest in running for the same position.
