2026 WCQ: Rohr predicts what Zimbabwe will do to Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Uyo

Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr, has predicted that Zimbabwe will present a tough challenge for Nigeria in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles are set to face Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday evening.

Eric Chelle’s team enters the match following a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, while Zimbabwe recently played to a 2-2 draw with Benin.

During his post-match press conference, Rohr commented:

“The 2-2 draw was fair. We dominated the first half, but they controlled the second. A 2-2 result means we earned a point.

“We knew this was Zimbabwe’s final chance to qualify for the World Cup. Now, with just three points, their hopes are over.

“However, they are very competitive, and I am confident that their coach and staff will ensure they fight just as hard against Nigeria in Uyo and later against Rwanda and Lesotho.”

As it stands, Nigeria occupies fourth place in Group C, while Zimbabwe remains at the bottom of the group.
