Coppa Italia: AC Milan end Inter’s Treble ambitions

Inter Milan saw their ambition of finishing this season with a Treble end on Wednesday night, after they lost to AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg.

The first leg of the tie had ended in a 1-1 draw.

However, the Rossoneri outclassed their city rivals, winning the second leg 3-0 to qualify for the final.

Luka Jovic scored twice in the 36th and 50th minutes as Milan took control of the game at the San Siro.

Midfielder Tijani Reijnders secured the win in the 85th, to book a place in the final where they will play the winner of Bologna vs. Empoli

The last time Milan won the Coppa Italia was in the 2002-03 season. However, their last appearance in the final was 2018, where they were thrashed 4-0 by Juventus.

For Inter, they will now turn their attentions to a Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona.

Simone Inzaghi’s men are also top of the Serie A table.
