AFCON 2023: Cote d’Ivoire forward Haller craves revenge against Super Eagles

Ivory Coast forward Sebastian Haller expressed the team’s determination to seek vengeance for their loss to Nigeria in the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The hosts are set to compete against the Super Eagles for the coveted championship title at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday. In an earlier encounter in the competition, Emerse Fae’s team suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Super Eagles.

Nevertheless, Haller emphasized the Elephants’ desire to claim both revenge and the championship title this time around.

“We are gearing up for the final against Nigeria. They are a formidable nation, and the defeat in the group stage weighs heavily on us,” Haller told BeIn SPORTS. “However, we are already driven to secure victory and hoist the trophy on Sunday in front of the Ivorian fans. We are determined to avenge our loss to Nigeria.”

The match is scheduled to commence at 9 pm Nigerian time.
