In Abuja on Friday, a Federal High Court granted bail to Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL). The court also extended bail to his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, who was charged alongside him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Ndifon’s bail was set at N250 million with two sureties, while Anyanwu was granted bail of N50 million with two sureties.
According to DAILY POST, both the professor and his lawyer are facing trial on amended charges of alleged sexual harassment and an attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Justice James Omotoso, the presiding judge, stipulated that the defendants must provide an undertaking not to interfere with the case, commit to attending trial, and avoid causing delays.
The judge then adjourned the proceedings until Monday, February 12, for further hearing.
