The NWC proposed activities for the APC’s 2023 general elections are however, subject to approval of the Progressive Governors Forum, President Buhari and finally the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party. The Party National chairman, Abdullahi Adamu is to meet with the Progressive Governors tomorrow.
Ahead of primaries, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released fee schedule for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for all elective positions in the 2023 general elections, with that of the presidential slated for N100 million.
According to the document containing the fees which was obtained and reported by Prime Business Africa, the expression of interest form goes for N30 million while nomination form is sold for N70 million.
Forms for governorship is N50 million, Senate, N20 million, House of Representatives, N10 million, and House of Assembly, N2 million.
According the proposed fees, female aspirants and people with disabilities were offered incentives of obtaining nomination forms for free; while youths of 35 years and below are to purchase the forms at 25 per cent of prescribed fees for each position.
Meanwhile, the party has also released its timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of the 2023 General Elections.
According to the document released on Wednesday after the NWC meeting, signed by the APC National organising secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Arugungu, the sale of forms all positions begins on Friday 22 April and ends on Saturday 7 May, 2022.
Primary Election
The APC primary election begins with State House of Assembly on Wednesday 11 May; followed by House of Representatives on Monday 16 May; Senate, Wednesday 18 May; and Governorship, Monday 23 May, 2022.
An APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be convened to on Saturday May 28, 2022 after to approve all elected candidates at all levels.
This after all issues of appeals regarding the primaries for all positions (which will take place between Saturday 14 May and Wednesday 25 May, 2022) have been concluded.
Also, a special national convention to elect the party’s Presidential flag bearer will be convened between Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 May, 2022.
