Armed men kidnap two wives of Jigawa LG chairman from their home

Two of the Chairman of Kiyawa Local Government Council’s wives in Jigawa State were abducted by armed individuals. According to a resident who informed DAILY POST, the incident occurred on Friday night when these criminals entered Kiyawa town and infiltrated the chairman’s residence, subsequently seizing the two wives.

The source mentioned that the suspected perpetrators fired gunshots into the air, causing alarm and chaos in the town. One of the kidnapped wives is notably pregnant and is close to her due date.

The spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawal Shisu Adam, confirmed the occurrence. He stated that the incident unfolded on Friday night after creating fear among the locals with their indiscriminate gunfire. SP Adam also noted that no injuries were reported during the incident.

He further explained, “Upon receiving information about the abduction, the state police command dispatched a special police unit to rescue the victims and apprehend the suspected criminals.”

A family insider also revealed to DAILY POST that, as of now, the kidnappers have not made any contact with the family.
