Army hands over suspect, 176kg of Indian hemp to NDLEA in Ogun

The 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Abeokuta has delivered 176kg of Indian hemp to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abeokuta. The disclosure was made by the brigade’s spokesman, Lt. Mohammed Goni, on Saturday. The handover was carried out by the Garrison Commander, Col. Legborsi Nule, who was represented by the Brigade Commander, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Aminu.

According to Goni, the army apprehended Fatai Bankole (25) in possession of the drugs on January 6 during a patrol on the Imeko-Abeokuta Road in Ogun.

Nule, as quoted by Goni, expressed the army’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to eliminate crimes and various forms of criminal activities in the state. He reiterated the brigade’s dedication to ensuring that troops maintained high standards and professionalism in the execution of their duties.

The NDLEA Commandant in Ogun, Mrs. Jane Odili, who received the drugs and the suspect, commended the efforts of the brigade and called for continued collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.
