Army honours 113 Generals on retirement

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Army paid tribute to 113 retired generals in recognition of their 35 years of commendable service to the nation. This group of senior officers, consisting of one General, a Lieutenant General, 67 major generals, and 44 brigadier generals, includes individuals who recently retired or were slated for retirement during the year. Notable figures honored during the ceremony include the former Chief of Defence Staff, retired Gen. Lucky Irabor; former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya; and former Chief of Defence Intelligence, retired Maj.-Gen. Samuel Adebayo.

During the event, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru, emphasized the significance of reflecting on the exceptional services and unwavering commitment demonstrated by these generals. Badaru highlighted the wealth of experience, skills, integrity, discipline, dedication, loyalty, and respect for diversity exhibited by the honorees, asserting that these qualities would continue to guide them in their future endeavors.
