Atiku at Osun rally: promises to tackle insecurity, others

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised Osun State people that he will start addressing challenges of insecurity, youth unemployment and economic deprivation, among others, from the first day he assumes office, if elected as president.

Alhaji Atiku who made the promise during a presidential campaign rally in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, thanked the people of the state for voting for Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor of the state overwhelmingly at the July 16 governorship election.

He, therefore, urged the people to replicate same for him at the 2023 presidential election.

Alhaji Atiku said that if a PDP government emerges at the center, it would be to the greater good of Osun State because his administration would empower Senator Adeleke with resources to do more in the provision for infrastructural development for the economic benefit of the people of the state.

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke said that Alhaji Atiku’s emergence would unsettle evil in the country because the former vice president has the fear of God

The National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, said that of all the presidential candidates jostling to be elected as the next President, it is only Alhaji Atiku who has the experience, will and ability to pull the country out of its current ugly conditions.

Meanwhile, a former governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the July 16 election, Mr. Lasun Yusuf, formally defected to PDP at the rally.

Governor Adeleke announced Yusuf’s defection alongside his supporters to the PDP, while members cheered.
