As Easter is observed by Christians worldwide, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin extends his joyous wishes to believers across Nigeria. With the Federal Government designating Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, as public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively, Senator Barau celebrates the completion of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting and prayer culminating in Easter.
In a statement conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau commends Christians for their devotion during Lent and encourages them to embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasizing values of peace, love, perseverance, and forgiveness showcased during Easter.
Moreover, he calls upon all Nigerians to contemplate the nation’s status and recommit themselves to prayer and sacrifice. Senator Barau believes Nigeria’s challenges are conquerable through unity, love, and fervent prayers for the nation’s advancement under its leadership.
