The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has once again cautioned prospective pilgrims to be vigilant against fraudulent individuals.
In a statement released by Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs, and distributed to media outlets, the commission emphasized the need for intending pilgrims to report any individuals soliciting additional administrative fees beyond the stipulated 2024 hajj fare.
“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria hereby issues a crucial warning to prospective pilgrims concerning the payment of supplementary Hajj fares. The Commission has not authorized any demand for additional administrative charges beyond the specified amount, and anyone making such requests on our behalf is contravening NAHCON’s role and responsibility as the regulatory authority.”
“The collection of any extra fees is unauthorized. Any pilgrim approached to pay additional charges should report the individual’s name, location, and provide evidence of the request or payment. Please forward such documentation to this WhatsApp number: 09071800007.”
“Kindly rely solely on official announcements from NAHCON, which are published on our website. Remain vigilant and safeguard yourselves against scams,” the statement concludes.
