Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, has passed away.
According to reports, Ayilara died on Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja.
The Nation indicates that he had undergone surgery for prostate cancer the previous day, just hours before his death.
A family member expressed the sorrowful news, stating, “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend, brother, and family member, Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State.”
