Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a well-known cross-dresser, has been handed a six-month prison sentence without the possibility of paying a fine. This verdict comes after Bobrisky was brought before the Federal High Court in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges related to the misuse of the Nigerian currency.
Bobrisky admitted guilt to the first four charges concerning Naira misuse, while the remaining charges, related to money laundering, were dismissed by the EFCC’s request.
However, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, in a ruling delivered today, April 12th, 2024, sentenced Bobrisky to six months in a correctional facility, with no option for fine.
