BREAKING: Cubana Chief Priest arrives court for arraignment over naira abuse

Nightlife mogul Okechukwu Paschal, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has appeared in the Federal High Court in Lagos to face trial.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has leveled accusations against him concerning misuse of Nigerian currency. He was escorted to the court on Wednesday morning by EFCC officials accompanied by armed police.

On Tuesday, the EFCC lodged a three-count charge against the social media influencer. According to the document filed on April 4th by the EFCC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, and seven other legal representatives of the Commission, it alleges that on multiple occasions, including one in 2020 and two in 2024, Okechukwu Pascal, while participating in social events, engaged in the act of dispersing funds of N500 denomination issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria, violating Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.
