BREAKING: Gov Fubara presents 2024 budget to five Rivers lawmakers

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State submitted the 2024 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly on Wednesday during a plenary attended by five members who support him. This event occurred shortly after the state government initiated the demolition of the House of Assembly complex, as reported by DAILY POST.

It is worth noting that 27 House members, aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former state governor, Nyesom Wike, had recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). These 27 lawmakers, loyal to Wike, were not present during the governor’s budget presentation on Wednesday. Further details will be provided later.
