Joshua Rogers, the Channels Television journalist who was abducted in Rivers State, has been freed.
He was taken captive on Thursday night around 9 pm after reportedly being followed to his home.
According to reports, armed assailants intercepted him at gunpoint and drove off with him in his own vehicle.
Rogers’ abductors subsequently contacted his wife, demanding a ransom of N30 million.
Following the kidnapping, there was widespread coverage in the media, with various groups advocating for his release.
It remains unclear whether any ransom was paid to secure his freedom.
After his release, Rogers was seen at his elder brother’s residence, where he was joined by family members and friends in expressing gratitude through song.
As of now, the Rivers State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
