BREAKING: Oyetola plotting to cause mayhem in Osun from Monday – Adeleke cries out

Governor Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Plotting Unrest in Osun State

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over an alleged plan by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, to incite unrest in the state starting Monday, February 17, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Adeleke accused Oyetola of leading efforts to enforce a court ruling that reversed the dismissal of local government chairmen elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor further alleged that Oyetola, in collaboration with top security officials, including the State Commissioner of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), is attempting to destabilize the state.

Adeleke’s Warning on Alleged Conspiracy

“I convened this press conference to inform both national and international audiences about a deliberate attempt to create chaos and anarchy in Osun State,” Adeleke declared.

He described the plan as a “fascist and anti-democratic agenda”, accusing Oyetola of using security agencies to impose an illegitimate court ruling.

The governor reaffirmed his belief in President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law, stating:
“I trust that Mr. President, as a true democrat, will never endorse any action that violates the constitution or leads to bloodshed.”

However, Adeleke claimed that Oyetola is exploiting his relationship with the President to pressure security operatives into enforcing an unlawful directive.

Legal Dispute Over Sacked Council Chairmen

Adeleke clarified that the local government chairmen in question were removed before he assumed office, contrary to claims that their dismissal resulted from his Executive Order.

He criticized the attempt to use a separate court ruling without a consequential order to reinstate the officials, warning that any illegal enforcement of such a decision could plunge the state into crisis.

“I am speaking out before my people are harmed by a minister who is invoking the President’s name in collaboration with security operatives acting on unlawful directives,” Adeleke asserted.

The governor urged federal authorities and the public to intervene and prevent any disruption of peace in Osun State.
