BREAKING: Tinubu gives 48-hour ultimatum for new minimum wage

President Bola Tinubu has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, to determine the cost implications of the new minimum wage.

This information was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing with State House Correspondents following a meeting between the negotiation team and the President at Aso Rock.

Idris said, “All parties involved in negotiating the new minimum wage will collaborate with organized labor to propose a new minimum wage for Nigerians within one week.

“We will all work diligently over the next week to ensure a new wage for Nigeria that is acceptable, sustainable, and realistic.”

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended the strike, which began on Monday, for one week to allow for further negotiations with the Federal Government.
