Business mogul, Chief Onuokaibe backs Governor Mbah’s educational innovations with N11.5 million

The CEO of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, Mburubu Construction Company Ltd, Nostra Lounge and Bar, and Lily Gold Fashion Home, Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, has contributed a sum of ₦11.5 million Naira to the Enugu state Government in support of the smart school initiatives spearheaded by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. The donation was made during an event held at the Enugu State smart school environment in Owo, located in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, with the presence of Commissioner for Education, Prof Ndubueze Mbah, and other dignitaries.

Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration is undertaking the construction of K9 Smart School projects across 260 wards in Enugu State, aiming to enhance the quality of education, skills, and manpower development crucial for the state’s overall progress.

During the presentation of the cheque for purchasing school uniforms to support the state Government’s initiative, Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe expressed his company’s longstanding desire to support Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s commendable initiatives. He emphasized the importance of education as the foundation of society and pledged ongoing support to secure the future of citizens, particularly in his hometown of Mburubu.

Chief Onuokaibe highlighted the significance of private partnerships for the success of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration. He commended the governor’s innovative approach and affirmed his company’s commitment to donating for 1000 students, with plans to extend support through the state Ministry of Education.

Explaining the concept of smart schools, Chief Onuokaibe emphasized their integration of technology into education, enhancing the learning experience by leveraging digital tools, interactive platforms, and connectivity. He praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s implementation of smart technologies, which fosters real-time assessments, personalized learning plans, and efficient communication between teachers, students, and parents.

In response, the Commissioner for Education, Prof Ndubuisi Mbah, expressed appreciation for Chief Onuokaibe’s donation, considering it a significant development. He reiterated the state government’s determination to revitalize the education system, allocating over 33% of the 2024 budget to education. Prof Mbah assured that the smart schools would bridge the educational gap between rural and urban areas and called for support from Enugu State business owners to make the initiative successful.

Mr. Okoh Onyekachi Emmanuel, Head of Marketing and Communication at First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, affirmed the company’s readiness to support Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s initiative. He encouraged other business owners in the state to follow suit, stating that the company would register over 500 students for the UTME in addition to its generous donations.
