Court sacks Bwacha as APC Governorship candidate in Taraba

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja as nullified the APC primary election which produced Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 general election.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled that based on submissions made by the parties, the purported primary conducted by APC on May 26, 2022 upon which the party announced Bwacha of APC Taraba South, as its candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial elections, was a nullity.

The ruling was instituted by the senator representing Taraba Central, Yusuf Yusuf.

Another Federal Federal High Court in Jalingo, had last month sacked Senator Bwacha in a different case instituted by another governorship aspirant, David Kente.

The two courts called on the leadership of the APC to conduct a fresh governorship primary in Taraba.
