Details of meeting between Elon Musk, Chinese Premier, Li Qiang emerge

The Chinese Premier, Li Qiang, assured Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Executive Chairman of X, during an unexpected meeting in Beijing that the Chinese market remains open to foreign investment. Li Qiang, China’s second-ranking official, made this disclosure on Sunday, emphasizing China’s commitment to maintaining an open and expansive market for foreign-funded companies.

“China’s extensive market will always welcome foreign-funded enterprises,” stated Li Qiang, affirming China’s dedication to its promises and ongoing efforts to enhance market access and ensure robust service provisions.

In response, Musk expressed his appreciation for the meeting with Li Qiang, noting their longstanding acquaintance dating back to their early days in Shanghai.

Musk’s discussion with Li Qiang coincided with Chinese automakers showcasing their latest electric vehicles at the Beijing Motor Show, held from April 25 to May 5.
