Ebonyi State Government says it will set up a special taskforce to checkmate illegal revenue collection in the state.
The state governor, Francis Nwifuru announced this at the Government House Chapel, Abakaliki during a church service.
“We want to constitute a taskforce to get our environment clean because it is very important to us. Within the week there will be lots of work in our environment.
“Also, we will set up taskforce to checkmate illegal revenue collection.
“A lot of people have been collecting revenue from petty traders without government approval and that has come to our knowledge. Many of you sacrificed to bring this government on board, therefore, we will not allow such thing to continue,” the governor said.
