On Sunday, the Labour Party (LP) announced its strategic efforts to secure the governorship seat in the Edo 2024 election, as stated by Mr. Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, in a release from Abuja.
Ifoh revealed that the party in Edo had initiated a capacity-building program for its wards and local government executives to fortify and reposition the party for success. During the training, Mr. Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the party, expressed confidence that the Labour Party remained the sole political entity capable of rescuing the nation and Edo State from inadequate governance.
Abure explained that the training program aimed to enhance the capabilities of local government and ward executives, preparing them for the Edo 2024 governorship election. He emphasized the pivotal role of grassroots efforts in winning elections, stressing that the actions and inactions of party members at the ward and local government levels played a decisive role.
The National Chairman emphasized the Labour Party’s belief that it held the solutions to the socio-economic challenges faced by the state and the nation. He highlighted issues such as infrastructure decay, poverty, hunger, and unemployment, asserting that the party’s ideology aimed to change this trajectory and position the country for greatness.
Abure outlined the party’s objective in Edo, focusing on selecting the right candidate capable of defending votes and leading the state in the right direction. He indicated that similar training sessions would be conducted in other senatorial districts, aligning with the party’s overall strategy for victory in the 2024 elections.
