EndBadGovernance: DSS to name sponsors of protesters with Russian flag

The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced its intention to identify and reveal the names of individuals funding protesters who are waving foreign flags to incite unrest. DSS spokesperson Peter Afunanya confirmed that the names of these sponsors will be disclosed soon.

At a joint press conference in Abuja, Afunanya urged Nigerians to remain patient with the Federal Government. He explained that the DSS is investigating the use of foreign flags during recent protests and will provide more details about the sponsors in due course.

Afunanya stated, “People are beginning to engage in actions that threaten the security, welfare, and order of society. We will not remain passive. We have already arrested individuals involved in the flag displays. It’s not just about children waving flags; there is more to it.”

He added that some aspects of the investigation might not be disclosed publicly due to their sensitive nature or the potential impact on the investigation. “We will see this through to the end, and you may be surprised by the information when it is eventually made public.”

The protests, which have included the display of Russian flags in the North, are aimed at criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration and addressing widespread hunger and suffering in the country.
