Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has appealed for federal assistance in the development of a cargo terminal and the completion of the International Wing at Akanu Ibiam International Airport. Mbah conveyed this request during an interaction with journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the State Government and the Federal Government to ensure the successful completion of both the cargo terminal and the international wing of Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. Governor Mbah assured that Enugu is a secure location for investors to channel their investments.
The governor praised the economic policies implemented by President Tinubu, stating that they are conducive to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). He specifically commended the harmonized foreign exchange rates policy, noting its positive impact on Enugu’s efforts to attract FDI.
While expressing appreciation for bold economic initiatives such as the removal of fuel subsidies, Governor Mbah acknowledged that these policies might pose short-term challenges for individuals. However, he emphasized that such measures are essential for addressing the nation’s economic issues and will ultimately bring significant benefits to the citizens.
Mbah commended the President, highlighting that the national-level initiatives are positively influencing and benefiting Enugu at the state level.
