EPL: Man City will be relegated if found guilty of 115 financial charges – Borson

Stefan Borson, a former financial advisor for Manchester City, has acknowledged that the club could face relegation from the Premier League if found guilty of the 115 charges leveled against them. The accusations pertain to the club’s financial activities from 2009 to 2018, with additional claims stating that Manchester City did not cooperate with the ensuing investigations.

Despite the club’s denial of these allegations, the Premier League’s chief executive, Richard Masters, has confirmed the scheduling of a hearing to address the issues. Borson, in an interview on talkSPORT, emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that the scale of the charges is significantly greater than cases involving Everton and Forest.

Borson asserted that if the charges are proven, there is no doubt that the repercussions would include relegation. He pointed out the allegations of conspiracy over a decade, with the Premier League suggesting that City’s primary sponsorship agreements were not in the range of £50-60 million but rather £8 million, implying that the entire arrangement was deceptive.
