Piers Morgan, the British TV personality and dedicated Arsenal fan, criticized the team’s manager for not securing a striker in the current January transfer window. In a tweet on Thursday, Morgan addressed Mikel Arteta, reminding him that there are 14 days remaining to finalize a deal. He specifically mentioned Ivan Toney from Brentford, who has expressed his desire to join a club contending for the title.
Morgan’s tweet read: “The January transfer window closes in 14 days but Arsenal still haven’t signed a striker despite proven goalscorers like @ivantoney24 almost begging to go to a big club. What are you waiting for @m8arteta? Stop being so stubborn about your ‘process’ & get your chequebook out.”
As it stands, Arsenal’s squad has only two senior strikers, namely Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
