EPL: Ten Hag blames three Man Utd players for 2-1 defeat to Brighton

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has singled out three players for blame after they lost 2-1 at Brighton on Saturday.

The Red Devils were looking to build on their 1-0 win in the Premier League opener when they travelled to the Amex.

But a goal from their former striker, Danny Welbeck, gave Brighton the lead in the first half.

And although Amad Diallo pulled one back, the hosts grabbed a late winner through Joao Pedro.

United also saw Alejandro Garnacho’s goal ruled out after Joshua Zirkzee was deemed to be offside on the line.

For Brighton’s winner, Antony’s weak attempted tackle allowed Adingra to carve open space in the area before Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo and Noussair Mazraoui stood off the player as the ball was floated in.

“We didn’t stop the cross,” Ten Hag said.

“There were three players. [Adingra is a] right-footed player, send him down the line, send him wide instead of letting him come in and let the cross.

“We have, of course, to talk about this.”
