During their Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday, Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed on the field. The incident occurred in the 58th minute when the score was tied at 1-1. Lockyer fell near the center circle, despite no one being in close proximity to him at the time. Medical personnel quickly responded to assist the defender, and he was eventually stretchered off.
According to reports from Sky Sports, Lockyer is “alert and responsive.” However, the game at the Vitality Stadium was called off as a result of the incident.
Luton posted on social media, stating, “The fixture between AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town has been suspended. All our thoughts are with Tom Lockyer at this time.”
