A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chidi Nwogu, has praised Enugu Rangers for their victory in the recently concluded Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), where the club emerged as champions and won a cash prize of N150 million.
In a statement released to journalists in Abuja, Nwogu commended the various improvements in turnout, interest, and enthusiasm by stakeholders during the league season. He specifically lauded NPFL chairman Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, members of his board, and the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan-Enoh, whose leadership energized both players and spectators, contributing to the success of the domestic top-flight league.
“Governors such as Dr. Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Godwin Obaseki of Edo States also deserve commendation for their investments in sports. Additionally, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be recognized for his positive and supportive role in transforming Nigerian sports through his Sports Minister, Senator Enoh,” Nwogu stated.
The former lawmaker also congratulated the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on his birthday, describing him as an embodiment of humility and perseverance who has significantly contributed to the growth of democracy in Nigeria.
“I wish the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, a splendid birthday. I celebrate him today and always. He exemplifies humility and perseverance and has played a significant role in the growth of democracy in Nigeria,” Nwogu added.
