Ezeife’s death great loss for Nigeria – Gov Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has expressed sorrow over the passing of former Anambra governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, stating that Nigeria has lost a significant asset. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Mr Oguwike Nwachuku, Governor Uzodimma described the late elder statesman as a consistent advocate for good governance and progressive politics.

Ezeife, also known as Okwadike of Igboukwu, served as the first democratically-elected Governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993. The ex-governor passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Governor Uzodimma conveyed that Ezeife would be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He emphasized that the late statesman’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of both the common man and the influential marked him as someone dedicated to serving God and humanity.

Acknowledging Ezeife’s lasting impact as a former governor, Permanent Secretary, and Political Adviser, Governor Uzodimma highlighted that the deceased’s contributions and voice on issues related to good governance in his state, Nigeria, and society as a whole would not be easily forgotten. The governor concluded by offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed and for strength and solace for his grieving family.
