FG Declares Tuesday, Wednesday Public Holidays

The Nigerian Federal Government has announced that Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, will be observed as public holidays in celebration of Eid El-Fitr. This declaration was made known by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.

Additionally, the Federal Government extended congratulations to the Muslim community for the successful completion of Ramadan fasting. Minister Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to uphold values such as kindness, love, tolerance, and peace, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerians to foster peace and national cohesion.

The Minister wished the Muslim community a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration and invoked blessings and peace upon the nation. It’s worth noting that Ramadan fasting in Nigeria commenced on March 11th, 2024.
