Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has sworn in the nine re-nominated commissioners who resigned from his cabinet.
Speaking while swearing-in the commissioners at the Government House, Port Harcourt, on Friday, Fubara noted that they resigned from his cabinet because they were caught in a crossfire.
The nine commissioners took their oaths at once, beginning with the oath of allegiance before taking the oath of office.
Congratulating the commissioners, Fubara urged them to do what is right for the state.
“I don’t think I have any charge for you. You have already read your charge to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I urge you to do the right thing.
“I can see how heavy your hearts are. I don’t blame you. You were caught between the crossfire,” Fubara said.
The commissioners had initially resigned their appointment due to the rift between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
