Gbajabiamila, Sanwolu others felicitate with Nigerians on Christmas

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has rejoiced with the Christian faithful for marking this year’s Christmas.

In a message, the lawmaker, enjoined the Christians and other Nigerians to use the period to pray for a peaceful and successful general elections in 2023.

Similarly, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged Nigerians, to continue to “live in peace and harmony” as they celebrate Christmas.

He also appealed to residents of the state to celebrate the season of the birth of Jesus Christ “with moderation”.

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has appealed to Christians to reflect on the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ as they celebrate this years Christmas.

In a Christmas message, Alhaji Bello said love, compassion, sacrifice, selflessness and forgiveness, among other virtues, were the hallmarks of the Christmas celebration.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has described Christmas as the manifestation of God’s greatest love to redeem and reconcile mankind through the birth of Jesus Christ. 

He prayed for peace and harmonious co-existence between individuals, communities and ethnic groups, and enjoins all Nigerians to eschew divisive tendencies and bigotry. 

Also, the President Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Archbishop Daniel Okoh said the birth of Jesus Christ brought peace and hope saying there is no difficult situation that the presence of Jesus can not address.

He urged Nigerians to pray for God fearing leaders to emerge in the next year’s general election urging those contesting for elective position not to see the election as do or die affairs.

The CAN president however appealed to religious and political leaders to use Christmas season to reinforce the hope of the masses in a better, more peaceful and ensure secure Nation come 2023.
