Gov Yahaya Bello presents 40 SUVs, 4 Hilux vans to Kogi lawmakers, judges

On Friday, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State presented 40 SUVs and four Hilux vans to the state lawmakers and judges. Additionally, he delivered 25 ambulances to local governments within the state. The presentation took place at a ceremony held at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, where Bello characterized the gesture as a means of encouraging enhanced performance and rewarding diligence.

As part of the presentation, the state’s Fire Service in Lokoja received three brand new firefighting vans. Bello specifically allocated a jeep and two supporting cars to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf. The deputy speaker, majority leader, and the other 22 members each received a vehicle in various classes and brands.

Nine cars were designated for the judiciary, to be distributed among the benefiting judges in the state. During his speech, Governor Bello urged the recipients to view this gesture as motivation to better serve the state, contributing to its growth and development.

In terms of the ambulances, Bello outlined the distribution plan, indicating that each of the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) would receive one for their primary healthcare centers (PHCs). Additionally, three ambulances would be allocated to the three referral hospitals in the three senatorial districts, with one going to Kogi Specialist Hospital.
