Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State refuted Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s assertion that each state received an additional N30 billion to combat food insecurity. Makinde made this statement during the reopening ceremony of Iseyin Central Mosque in Iseyin.
He clarified that Oyo State did not receive any such funds from either the FIRS or the Federal Government. Emphasizing the need for leadership to foster confidence and hope during challenging times, Makinde cautioned against engaging in political blame games. He underscored his administration’s efforts to alleviate economic hardships through initiatives like SAfER and providing support to workers and pensioners. Additionally, Makinde stressed the importance of prayer and unity in addressing the nation’s current challenges.
