Gunmen attack Zamfara community, abduct over 50 women, girls

Suspected bandits have attacked Kakin Dawa village in the Gidan Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, abducting over 50 women and children.

The raid occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, with the gunmen, armed with advanced weapons, moving through the village house by house, according to a resident.

“Our village has been a target for these armed bandits. Everyone ran for safety, but we later discovered that more than 50 of our women were taken,” the resident shared with DAILY POST.

He confirmed that the kidnapped individuals included young girls and married women, calling on both the federal and Zamfara State governments to intensify security efforts in the area and confront the terrorists.

Efforts to obtain a response from the state police command’s spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
