Hardship: Tinubu promised to follow Buhari’s path – Atiku’s aide, Paul Ibe reminds Nigerians

Paul Ibe, the senior spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on Nigerians to recall the promises made by President Bola Tinubu during his election campaign.

He emphasized the importance of remembering the specific commitments Tinubu articulated to the Nigerian people during his bid for presidency.

Ibe highlighted that one of Tinubu’s primary pledges to Nigerians was to emulate the approach of former President Muhammadu Buhari, whose policies were contentious for many citizens.

Speaking in an interview on Arise TV News, Ibe remarked that Nigerians have been eagerly anticipating the purported magic Tinubu claimed to have achieved in Lagos, yet what they have witnessed instead is a period of trial and error.

He questioned the narrative surrounding Tinubu’s role in the development of Lagos, suggesting that the city had already benefited from federal resources and infrastructure prior to his tenure.

Ibe challenged Tinubu to demonstrate the same level of diligence and effectiveness in his national leadership as he purportedly exhibited in Lagos.

He expressed skepticism regarding the presence of Tinubu’s touted economic team and criticized what he perceived as a lack of significant change in economic policies over the past nine months.

Referring to Tinubu’s promise to follow in the footsteps of former President Buhari, Ibe drew attention to Buhari’s controversial economic strategies characterized by heavy borrowing, as well as allegations of favoritism and nepotism.

In essence, Ibe suggested that Tinubu’s administration appears to be continuing the policies of the previous government rather than implementing the promised transformative changes.
