I Believe In Nigeria’s Judicial System – Gov Ayade Ahead Of Defection Judgement

Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross River State has expressed his confidence and belief in the Nigerian judiciary.

His comment is coming on the heels of the judgement by a Federal High Court in Abuja over his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Expressing this belief in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Christian Ita, Ayade said his faith in the judicial system to do what is right, fair and just is unwavering and beyond doubt.

“I believe in the judiciary, I believe today’s judgement will be fair.

“I believe that justice will not only be done but will be seen to have been done. Whatever the outcome I will accept but without prejudicing my right of appeal should it become imperative.”

Meanwhile, the opposition PDP in the state has called on the judiciary to maintain its integrity as it is the last hope of the common man.

Chairman of the party, Vena Ikem said the judiciary should avoid a judgement that will make people doubt it and question them.

He added that nothing will save the drowning man.
