The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he received substantial offers to oppose the emergence of President Bola Tinubu. Wike disclosed that despite the tempting offers, he remained steadfast and actively supported Tinubu’s candidacy for president. These statements were made during his visit to Victor Gaidom, the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Gokana, Rivers State, on Saturday.
Wike, reflecting on his time as governor, emphasized that Rivers State was prominently featured in the national discourse. He expressed no regrets for standing alongside his colleagues and friends in advocating for the presidency to be from the south. Despite numerous offers, Wike asserted his refusal, underscoring his commitment to supporting Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s government.
As he concluded his visit, Wike expressed satisfaction that his friend, Tinubu, had returned. He anticipated potential repercussions from his visit, suggesting that others might follow suit. Wike encouraged continued support for Victor Gaidom and other leaders committed to the welfare of the people.
