Igbo Legacy Boosts Farming, Gives Loan And Farm Inputs To Beneficiaries

As part of plans towards promoting her campaign against hunger by encouraging farming,  Igbo Legacy in partnership with Fexdora Agro Development Cooperative Union has set the tone by granting loans as well as equipping farmers with farm seeds and farm loans in South East, Nigeria. 

The event which took place on May 9th, 2024 saw farmers from the Onwudinjo Co-operative and Ifunanya Cooperative receive a loan of N100,000 each, good quality maize seeds, cassava stem to enable them boost their farming in the forthcoming season.  

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Madam Ngozi Nwadike of Fexdora Agro Development encouraged the farmers to make judicious use of the support and make their own significant input towards fighting hunger in the country, while she further added that their performance will help them partner with more farmers in the future. 

On technical support, Madam Edith Dimasi from the ADP, provided training to the farmers on how to plant and maintain the maize and cassava for maximum yield and also promised to assist at any point if the need arises.

The farm imput  and financial loan  given was a follow-up of the inspection exercise which took place on 23rd April, 2024 were 22 plots of vast lands was inspected for Ifunanya Cooperative in Egbelu Ovuru, while another 42 plots of lands was also inspected for Onwudinjo Co-operative in Alulu, Ngor Okpala. 

Patience Chibunna and Emmanuel Onwudinjo from Onwudinjo Co-operative Alulu got  farm imputs  as well as N100,000 cash each, while Mr Jonas Nzeh of Ifunanya Cooperative Umuoguku Egbelu Ovuru in Ngor Okpala got same.

The loan of N100,000 for each of the beneficiaries has a monotarium of 3 months and it is expected to be paid back in one year.
