Imo governorship election: Hope Uzodinma takes massive lead, wins 20 LGAs

The present governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, is holding a substantial lead in the gubernatorial election conducted on Saturday in the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate has significantly outpaced his nearest rivals from the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Uzodinma is presently ahead in 20 out of the 27 local government areas in the state, based on the results declared by INEC. Initial reports indicate that the incumbent governor and his party have amassed 430,218 votes. In contrast, the Labour Party trails far behind with 45,020 votes, and the PDP has secured 45,698 votes.
