Insecurity: Kidnapping in Delta is terrible – Ex-Udu Council Vice Chairman, Iyasere

Former Vice Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon Justice Iyasere, has expressed concern over the insecurity, particularly kidnapping, in Delta State.

He assured that the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, will take effective measures to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens.

He made this assertion during a chat with our correspondent in Warri.

Hon Iyasere, a journalist, noted that security has been beefed up along the Ughelli Expressway by Uvwiamuge Junction, where some individuals were recently shot and killed.

According to Hon. Iyasere, “The situation is now under control. I am sure the police are on top of the situation.”

He suggested to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, that local vigilantes should be encouraged to provide intelligence on the activities of hoodlums and kidnappers.

“They are closer to the people and could be of great help in policing our communities,” he added.
