The Jigawa State Government has sanctioned the allocation of N173 million for the implementation of a solar mini-grid project at Dutse General Hospital in Dutse Local Government Area. Mr. Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports, and Culture, released a statement on Friday in Dutse, confirming the approval by the State Executive Council (SEC) during its meeting on Thursday.
Musa stated that the SEC endorsed a contract worth N172,754,158.00 for the installation of a Solar Mini-Grid at Dutse General Hospital. The decision reflects Governor Umar Namadi’s commitment to enhancing the standards of General Hospitals in the state to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
In addition to the hospital project, the council also greenlit N324.8 million for the construction, rehabilitation, and enhancement of 33 Small Towns Water Supply Schemes in 14 constituencies. Furthermore, the council approved a contract for establishing a fumigation chamber at Maigatari Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Maigatari Local Government Area. The proposed fumigation chamber aims to support the production of hibiscus in the state and enhance the quality of hibiscus produced, meeting the requirements for exportation set by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
