JUST-IN: Nigerian Filmmaker, Frank Vaughan, Is Dead

Frank Igho Okpokoro Vaughan, a veteran Nigerian filmmaker and former Vice President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), has passed away.

Vaughan, originally from Delta State, reportedly succumbed to illness in Warri on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with illness. His younger brother, Philip Okpokoro, a cinematographer and series director of the ‘Nigerian Idols’ reality TV show, is said to have confirmed the tragic news to the media.

Vaughan, renowned for his expertise in directing movies, is credited with playing a pivotal role in shaping the Nigerian film industry and mentoring aspiring filmmakers.

Additionally, he has had a notable career as a TV producer and director, as well as being recognized for his insightful commentary on current affairs and politics.

In his final years, Vaughan, who was in his 1960s, served as a pastor at Dominion City Church in Asaba, Delta State.
