Kaduna Speaker Urges Muslims To Pray For Nigeria During Ramadan

The Northern Speakers Forum (NSF), on Saturday, called on Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for the quick resolution of insecurity in the country.

The AGENDA NEWS recalls that the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Friday, announced the sighting of the moon, showing the commencement of Ramadan on Saturday.

Following this development, the Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, in a Ramadan message on Saturday, enjoined Muslims to conduct themselves very well during the holy month, to maximize the spiritual and physical benefits inherent in the month.

He expressed this, in a statement by his SA Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani

The Speaker urged Nigerians to let their actions match their prayers, adding that, as we begin the Ramadan fast, we must take actions that match our prayers.

He said the holy month is a period of sacrifice, prayers and reflection on our attitudes and contributions to nation-building, saying that without peace and unity, socio-economic development will continue to elude our society.

He identified good intentions, prayers, and firmness of purpose in the pursuit of good deeds as conditions for reaping the benefits of the holy month.

He further reminded Muslims that Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and urged the faithful to accord it all the necessary attention by being proactive in decisions and actions that will ensure their full participation in the fast.

While calling on preachers to guard their utterances during the fasting period, the speaker urged them to concentrate on the true teachings of Islam, rather than engage in mutual recrimination.
