The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has sanctioned the prompt dismissal of Hassan Atawodi from his position as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area.
According to reliable information obtained by DAILY POST, the ousted council leader allegedly redirected relief materials intended for his local government to a different destination.
Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, affirmed this action in a statement released on Monday.
She stated that the governor has authorized the appointment of Musa Muhammed Lawal as the new Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, effective immediately.
She further mentioned that the governor has instructed Atawodi to surrender all government assets in his possession to the new transition chairman.
The statement also mandated Atawodi to transfer all responsibilities of the council and provide a comprehensive handover report to the new transition chairman without delay.
Ayoade emphasized that Atawodi’s dismissal aligns with Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to combat corruption.
