Nancy Pelosi: I’ll not run again as speaker

Speaker House of Representatives, Mrs. Nancy Pelosi today announced that she will no longer contest for Speaker of the house in the next dispensation.

Nancy Pelosi, 82 made the remarks after so many years as speaker as Republicans are projected to take dominance of the lower house.

Pelosi who spoke at a public gathering in the house recalled her experience in the house, stressing that the scripture teaches us that there is season and time for everything.

Said she will continue to speak for the people of San Francisco but that she will not seek for speaker of the House of Representatives in the new dispensation.

Born March 26, 1940, Nancy Pelosi served as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 till date.

Pelosi who is the first woman elected speaker is married to Paul Pelosi, an American businessman.

Under her, the House of Representatives twice impeached former President of American, Donald Trump but the impeachment was shot down by the Senate.

Her reign has been filled with rancour, the latest being her recent visit to Taiwan which has led to diplomatic showdown between China and the United States of America.

Pelosi graduated from Trinity College, Washington in 1962.
